July?! Currently

Loving: My pace of life is crazy hectic with grad school, apartment hunting finding (!), moving to a new state, and getting married in 14 days.  Honestly I wouldn't have it any other way.  I need to stay busy, busy, busy.  I'm really excited for all the upcoming changes in my life.  MN here I come.  I can't believe my next currently will be from my new state/apartment!!!

This super cutie and I will be married SO SOON! I'm not liking the last minute details, I'm ready for it to happen ;)

Wanting :  Yes, we have TONS of shower gifts and I'm super thankful but some stuff like a large trash can, curtain rods, silverware have escaped the list....pretty crucial.  Who knew you needed so much stuff (even though we have both lived on our own!).

Needing: I'd love more time for projects, that are on the backburner as of right now.  Got plenty of other stuff going on.

Tip: You have to have lots of patience for blogging, TpT, anything internet related.  Everyone has their own pace, and RARELY is it overnight!  It can be hard to not compare yourself but if you are sharing and not being a blog robot (Thanks Farley)  then people will find you and connect.  I love the sharing of ideas and amazing resources I see all the time.  Being a part of that community no matter how big or small you are is insanely cool!

Website Wednesday - Operation Smile

So if you are like me, still needing books for school....undergrad, graduate, doctorate, whatever and have not seen Campus Book Rentals you might want to take a look.   I didn't graduate all that long ago but renting textbooks is now the thing to do. Trust me - definite cost savings.  I did it for every book I could in college and even now in grad school.  I keep very few books so this solution was a cost savings that worked for me.

Benefits of renting:
1) cheaper!!!
2) you don't have to work about getting so little back when you sell a book. I only use them for class anyway.
3) Easy to use - type in ISBN for quick service.

Renting is something quite a few online services advertise.  Campus Book Rentals is unique in more ways as well.  They just started a new program called Rent Back.   It puts all the power in the student's hands.  You can rent your textbook to other students for 2-4x as much money than just renting a book since you already own it!  How easy is that?!  What student would want that easy money? Who doesn't have some textbooks they just haven't gotten around to selling yet?

Another reason Campus Book Rentals is SO COOL! Every time you check out a book some of the proceeds go toward Operation Smile to perform life changing cleft lip surgeries!  Making a difference on top of all this! It doesn't get much better than that!

5 for Friday

Well I'm linking up again! I'm going to apologize in advance there is not much teacher stuff going on over the summer.  I want to but I'm...this close....to knowing my job for next year so it will wait a little bit before I go into a crazy pre-planning mode.

1. First I've been going crazy crafty and getting last minute stuff done for wedding.  I found this awesome Magnet board at Hobby Lobby! I really need to stay out of that place! I also made these meal ideas board for our fridge that I put in a page protector so we can use dry erase markers on it or make changes whenever we want.  I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of recipes or at least ideas for when I lack inspiration in our new place!

SO ADORABLE! Chevron!                          Some pattern inspiration for future projects

2. I made these glitter clothespins from Pinterest! They turned out adorable!  I already instagramed (?) them if you follow me there.  Just Modge Podge, glitter, and more ModPodge to prevent "shedding!:

3. I saw tons of animals on our recent trip up north.  I had some job interviews and we saw our future apartment and went to a friend's wedding.  Of course, I saw a billboard and had to stop at the Madison zoo in Wisconsin.  It was such a cool place and a great pitstop.  My favorite was the giant tortoise. I've never seen one before and it was HUGE!

4. Of course, after being long distance for 2 years, I've been spending lots of time with this guy :) 22 days till the BIG day! I'm beyond exciting and just have finishing touches. Here's our attempt at one of those silly heart photos from Pinterest (we had some extra time on our giant roadtrip!)  A little lopsided but fun to do nonetheless.

5.  Does anyone else play IAssociate? Its word associations but fun to play as a pair and give clues. It is my favorite roadtrip game.  So much fun!

Teacher Gift Idea- Monday Made It!

I was really excited about this project because I really think she will LOVE it, and it was easy to do and some might want it for a teacher beginning of the year gift.

I searched for teacher gifts of course on Pinterest but none exactly what I wanted. First I completed this painting!  I used her new school colors and hot glued ribbon and tulle on the back so it can be hung up! I outlined in pencil first just using a circle template then painted using acrylic paints.

Next, I created this basket filled with tons of teacher goodies for her first year! Target $1 HOLLA!

Here is a list of what I included:

  • margarita class (we all have those days!)
  • stapler (heavy duty)
  • stationary set (I use mine ALL the time!)
  • $1 cup filled with colorful pens
  • $1 cup with cute binder clips
  • Apple Post-It dispenser (perfect for teacher)
  • chocolate (for those days as well!)

inside with all the goodies!

I just nestled it all in there so it all fit and put in a cute ($1) tub that I Modpodged her name on once again.  I just used a cute frame and then added the name and put it on the front! I added some more cute tulle on the handles just for extra cuteness!
front view: with the name!
Whatcha think?!

I also made these teacher gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week. Click the pic for that post! Once again more  $1 spot!

5 for Friday

1.  I'm loving summer.  I have gotten to paint, also something that sadly falls by the wayside during the school year. I am in love with these colors so they tend to be in pretty much everything I paint.

2. If you remember awhile back, I contemplated getting a puppy, of course everyone said, YES, and now we have little Widget.  He's currently cooped up like a rabbit sleeping between my legs.  I absolutely love having a dog, we never had one growing up.  He's playful and I love seeing him interact with all the different family members.  He fits in so well and is weird when he is gone.  I get to spend lots of time with him this summer! :)

3. The job search is getting closer to coming to an end.  I'm heading up for some interview next week.  When we are up there, we are looking at our apartment too!!!  So glad to have some part of the whole moving process accomplished!

4. I have had lots of time to organize all my teacher books though! They are all nicely separated into professional books, binders of subjects, picture books sorted!  Along with sorting through all my other material, I literally could use a whole room just for teaching!

5. I have been using summer to cook more as well! I've been having fun trying new recipes. Any tried and true recipes that I must try?

June Currently!

June 2nd already?! Time is flying.  I'm linking up with Farley.  So glad it's summer, I have plenty of time to read what everyone is up to.

Loving- wedding is SO close!
Wanting- I love fun reading that never seems to happen during the school year :(
Needing - Any tips for buying a new computer?! I'm thinking I want a touch screen but still laptop (for processing power over tablet).  I don't love Windows 8 but my computer holds no charge, gets extrememly hot, and freezes sometimes- I know its only a matter of time.... decisions, decisions....

Well I have forgotten to pick a winner of just too busy  so without further ado Gwen you are the winner! I will be emailing you ASAP! Thanks everyone for pinning :)
